Christopher Poss, D.D.S.
Dentist in Eau Claire, WIChristopher Poss D.D.S.
I have been practicing for dentistry for more than 30 years, and in that time, I have developed a true passion for providing the high quality of care my patients expect and deserve. I feel it is important to listen to each patient so we can develop a plan that fits each patient's needs and desires. It is very rewarding to see a patient with multiple dental problems and be able to give them their smile and confidence back.
My practice philosophy is to see the whole picture when it comes to my patients’ health, to treat more than just the teeth. I believe that whole-body wellness begins with oral health and ends in healthy, beautiful smiles.
Education and Continuing Education
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry – Southwest State University, 1977
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Minnesota, 1981
I believe that continuing education is vital to stay up to date in delivering the finest dentistry for my patients. I enjoy learning new things and consider myself a perpetual student. Through the Central Wisconsin Study Club, I meet with other local dentists for continuing education and lectures from world-renowned dental professionals. I also participate in Spear Education, which provides dental continuing education for dentists who are dedicated to the clinical pursuit of excellence in dentistry. My studies with the Occlusion Design Study Group advance my knowledge of full-mouth comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry.
Outside the Office
I grew up in the small rural town of Franklin, Minnesota, and have lived in Eau Claire since 1989. I have a wonderful wife, Sue who is the office manager at our office and we have been married 32 years. My oldest son Kevin lives in Minneapolis, and our daughter Kelsey, who just got married to Ryan, lives near Madison. Our youngest son Kolin lives in Milwaukee. Our six-year-old black lab Piper is great companion on walks and is a certified therapy dog in our office.
When not at work I like to spend time bicycling, golfing, deer hunting, shooting pool, woodworking, and watching the Packers and the Brewers. I am especially passionate about music and photography; I have an extensive music collection and love to go to all kinds of music venues.
Eau Claire has been a wonderful place to build my business and raise my family, and I give back whenever I can. I participate in the Give Kids a Smile Day at the CVCT every year, and was also on the board that helped raise funding for Eau Soccer Park. This community has been so good to me, and I believe it is important to return that generosity in kind.
